In 1905, engineer and entrepreneur George Knorr founded the Knorr-Bremse company in Berlin. In the years 1918-1926, he constructed a railway air brake and the first pneumatic brake for commercial vehicles. This provided the company with the position of the main manufacturer of brakes in Europe. Currently, Knorr-Bremse with its headquarters in Munich is one of the most important manufacturers of brake systems for rail and commercial vehicles on the global market. For over 110 years, Knorr-Bremse has been driving the development, production, distribution and service of modern brake systems in a significant way.
